Meet the Instructor

Michael Hernandez

Educator, Author, Speaker

Michael is an award-winning educator, author, and international speaker trusted by schools and organizations to design authentic learning experiences, and lead innovative professional learning workshops. He is an Apple Distinguished Educator and National Geographic Grosvenor Teacher Fellow.

About the workshop

AI and low student engagement have forced educators to rethink the purpose of assessment and the nature of school itself. This workshop is a response to these challenges by addressing their root causes: lack of agency, purpose, and authenticity. This is the inaugural cohort, so space is limited so that we can provide a personalized experience. While this 4-week workshop is designed for education leaders and coaches, all are welcome. Based on Michael's 26 years as a classroom teacher and professional learning leader, this workshop is grounded in classroom practice. See case studies, research, and strategies that work in real classrooms.
